This conversation will offer practical tools and a framework for thinking about parent partnership in child therapy.
Working with children almost always means working with parents—but for many therapists, parent work can feel like the most challenging part of seeing children and teens in therapy. In this workshop, Kate will share practical strategies for bringing parents meaningfully into the therapeutic process, including how to structure parent sessions, build parent buy-in, and shift parent involvement into one of the most rewarding parts of child therapy. We’ll explore how shifting our perspective on parent collaboration can improve outcomes for kids while making clinical work feel more supported and sustainable.
What We’ll Explore
The role parent sessions can play in strengthening therapeutic outcomes for children and teens.
Practical ways to structure and facilitate effective parent sessions alongside a child’s therapy.
Approaches for building parent buy-in and creating collaborative partnerships that support progress outside the therapy room.
