  • EBTC 251 Lafayette Circle, Suite 330 Lafayette, CA, 94549 United States (map)

Come get comfortable about the uncomfortable through curiosity, conversation, and cookies.

RSVP: EastBayTherapistCommunity@gmail.com

Cookies & Countertransference is a reflective gathering for therapists who want to deepen their clinical awareness and strengthen their use of self in the therapy room.

This event will explore what countertransference is, why it matters, and how our emotional and somatic responses can serve as powerful clinical data.

Through a brief teaching, guided reflection, small-group conversation, and some workshopping, we’ll normalize the complexity of our internal experiences with clients. Participants will learn practical tools for working with countertransference both in session and in their own processing outside of session.

This is a space for curiosity, humility, and professional growth (not supervision) with meaningful peer connection.

Cookies and hot coco will be served.

Presenter bio: Hana Kondo-Bacon is an associate psychotherapist who believes that meaningful clinical work happens not only within the inner world of the client, but within the inner world of the therapist as well. She values exploring the relational space between both people in the room, understanding that our emotional and somatic responses can offer important insight into the therapeutic process. As a narrative therapist, Hana is deeply curious about the stories we carry; about ourselves, about others, and about our roles, and how those stories shape the way we show up in our relationships and environments. Hana creates spaces that invite curiosity, self-awareness, and both personal and professional growth.

Hana is supervised by Nes Pinar, LMFT.
